Litigants we are most suited to
We are most suited to groups of 3 or more Respondents and Interested Parties defending the same proceeds case, and/or related cases, who want to work together and who have consistent interests in the proceeding/s:
- Large family groups named as respondents and interested parties.
- Related companies, trusts, limited partnerships named as respondents and interested parties.
- Members and associates of the same club named as respondents and interested parties.
- When we say "club" we are not talking about a tennis club or Nana's bridge club.
- In some cases, there may be 'synergies' between two clubs, and we may consider managing and assembling representation on a case by case basis.
- Members of the same group (not a club) - in some cases there may be multiple proceedings on at once throughout New Zealand where respondents and interested parties' activities are related.
The Criminal Proceeds (Recovery) Act 2009 has not always been used effectively by defence barristers in the past decade or so. Criminal proceeds litigation is civil litigation. It is about property. It is about assets. |
